Storage.....and craft room

Hello - I'm in a group and people were asking for storage ideas. So the files were to big to post into email, so figurd this would be the easier way plus you all may get an idea or two too!

I have posted pictures of my scrapbook room in the past you can see them here:  My Craft Room

Here are some additional photos of storage and ideas for storage.

So the flower compartments look a litte crappy...but that is because I was lazy and in a hurry. I should have done them the way I did my Copic storage, which is below. But, it works and they are separated! Foam board cost a couple bucks. 3 bucks tops. I think it's much cheaper than that though!

I bought these long towel racks from Ikea. They work great, however I didn't buy enough. I need like 2 or 3 more ;-))  Cost- about 2 bucks each!!!

My copic storage. I love it. it sits right in front of my work station and I just have to grab what I need. I like having the numbers in view. Nice thing is If I go anywhere, its a basket I just take it with me...no need to take them out and put them into anything else.

These are cut with an x-acto knife then put together. I have a basket using these for all my re-inkers and for my copics. I should have done my flowers like this, but it takes more work, more measureing, etc....but it looks SO much better. And, its quite sturdy. The foam board doesn't bow or anything with the weight of the re-inkers or markers. Cheap, inexpensive way for storage compartments.

I colored the image with Copic markers. Added some fine glitter for the "ice". The snowflakes are done with Ek Success and MS punches.  I think the ribbon was given to me by a blogger friend.  That cute little sentiment is from Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs.

Valentine Wall Hanging

Evening or I guess technically it's the weeee hours of the morning here. I came home from work today, fixed some dinner for the clan. Then boredom struck and I zonked out...well you guess it, I woke up and now I am wide awake! I bought this cute little LOVE wall hanging a few weeks back. I figured i would alter it somehow. Now, I suually have these wonderful ideas and never end up doing it. Then it just sits in my room and collects dust. I currently have a bin FULL of stuff that I have bought over the years to alter and never did. I want to get rid of it, but I just need to stop buying stuff like that to begin with unless I truly have an idea of what I am going to do and then do it!

So back to the wall hanging. I just knew if I waited any longer that is exactly what would happen to this. So I grabbed it out of my bin and started to play with it. Let me preface this by saying first, I really wasn't in the mood to craft tonight, but nothing else seemed very appealing to me either. Actually I was in the mood to go out and the hubby wasn't. I really wanted to go out to a club or something like that. Have a drink, dance a bit..go home. I would have been a happy camper. But instead I spent my Friday  night sleeping from 7-9 (bc I was bored!!) So I got home, hubs went to bed.

I am horrible at altering things...I try...I really do, but I am always afraid of adding to much, KWIM? It's cute, but I'm not thrilled!

And another thing, I bought a new "light studio" and I am not liking the backdrop. Going to go to JoAnns over the weekend and buy some different material to use. That gray is just fugly.

Real men wear pink, so yes, Edwin got a pink shirt!!!!!!!!! I colored Tilda and Edwin the Copic markers. If you are one of those ppl that make the picture larger, don't laugh at my Tilda. I colored her and then I guess I cleaned a stamp to close to her and I got little dots all over her...argh! I stamped that image off from a friend, so I couldn't just restamp and color it. So she has a few little dots on her. Oh well...life I am sure will go on!

I used Liquid pearls around the heart. The flourish is a magnolia Doohickey. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The cute little sentiment is from the Dollar bin at either Michaels or JoAnns.

I feel like I am missing something...but I think thats it.
Have a great weekend and see you on Sunday!! Paper Sundaes will be having an awesome BLOG HOP!

Craft your Days Away - Anything goes
Scrap, Stamp and doodle - Anything Goes

Sunflower Maggie - Magnolia Challenge Blog

It's Tuesday only 3 more days til the weekend. Not that I am counting or anything. I thought I was going to come home and get something done but I believe I am coming down with that nasty cold that seems to be going around. I really hope not, I hope it's just breezing by me and goes away quick..KWIM.

So the hubs is still trying to convince me to go see  snow. I sent him multiple links today showing him there is no such thing as snow in the south....it's called Ice!!  Hello! Not for me. I don't want to be slipping and sliding in any ice!!! We have 2 weekends booked for spur of the moment trip to the snow....we'll see what happens lol

Now, on to this weeks Magnolia-Licous Challenge Blog.  This weeks challenge is a color challenge and the colors are ORANGE and GREEN. Orange and Green just scream fall to me...so my card is a bit fallish I must say. I kept it clean and simple to showcase the adorable Sunflower Tilda.

I colored the sunflower then stamped another one and colored it. I cut it out and popped it out on top. I added Art Elements Carrot to the center for dimension.

I love this saying. I think most of us do not do this enough!

Some of my girls over at Paper Sundaes have inspired me to decorate the insides. So on most of my latest cards I have done just that! ;-)

I stamped Sunflower Tilda on papertrey ink paper with memento ink. She is colored with Copic markers. The paper is from my stash as is the ribbon. Thats pretty much it, I kept it pretty simple!!  You can get this fantastic tilda from my favorite place to get them - Magnolia-licous.  Diana has the largest selection of Magnolias and she will be sure to get them to you ASAP!

Be sure to play along with us at the Magnolia-licous Challenge BLog. The Challenge runs for 2 week and Diana always gives the best prizes!!!

Valentine You're Sweet - Magnolia

**2nd post today. Lili of the Valley post for Sentimental Sundays and Paper Sundaes is below this one!!**

It's Sunday night and tomorrow is back to work : - ((  So sad. I just want to stay home and play!! My office is inside a building with no windows and it's lonely! ;-((  The past 2 days I have had the windows open, blinds up...it's been absolutely perfect, gorgeous weather. Bright Blue skies, 68-72 degrees...this weekend are the Florida Winters I LOVE! But, it makes me sad to have to go to work and not be able to enjoy it!

Today I did a little crafting.  I inked up this supppppppper CUTE Tilda sitting on a chocolate box. Not sure why I choose her, but she just looks like she is giving Dreamy eyes to her Man! I <3 her! Also, I haven't made an easel card in sometime and I love how it came out.

So I haven't had my sewing machine out lately but thought I would bring it back out today. I had some issues...actually I had lots of issues. I bought some thicker thread, but didn't have a spare bobbin. Figured, it would be fine to just use up what was left of the other one. Well, apparently, it's not so fine. It didn't sew like usually, but I got it done and I will be able to change the bobbin out soon and correct my problem! You don't want to see what the back of the paper looked like!!

I picked up these papers from my new LSS - A Scrapbook and More. They are from Bo Bunny. I also snagged the stickpins from her, they are from Little Yellow Bicycle. About those stickpins. I know that you aren't suppose to keep those little backings on them, but I did. I added some liquid glass to them so they would stay. I didn't want anybody getting poked. Or maybe you are suppose to use them, I don't know what way the "correct" way is...but I like my way just fine. I used a spellbinders for the sentiment. The sentiment was from the dollar bin at JoAnns....sweet huh! I picked up the Magnolias from Diana's Magnolia-Licous Shop!

I am so bad about entering challenges. But I actually am entering a few. I got unlazy today, briefly, and went through a few to see what this weeks challenges were.

Challenges:

Creative Cowgirls - Something New (my Tilda is new!)
Lets Ink it Up - Anything Goes
One stitch at a Time - Love and Valentines
Craft your Days Away - Anything Goes
Wags n' Whiskers - Valentines.
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
7 Kids - Hot or cold

LOTV

Good Morning!  It's Sunday so today I have a card using an LOTV stamp. The new release comes out on Tues...can't wait!!  My friend and I are putting in an order (like I need another stamp)!! This post is going to be quick, I may pop on later and add  more to it ;-) For now though, It's late and I'm tired and stupid me didn't set this up sooner. I had the card done at the beginning of the week, for a change, but never did the post! So short and sweet it will be. Besides, I probably bored you with my incredibly long previous post! lol

This weeks challenge at Sentimental Sundays is - "things with wings" so you can use birds, planes. bugs...whatever. I chose a fairy! ;-) The challenge over at Paper Sundaes is Sponsored by LOTV and you have to use Circles. They can be in your DP, cut out, whatever, as long as it has Circles!

I finally got my hands on some Liquid Pearls...I know, I know..where the heck have I been? Anyways, I really liked them and they were easy to use. I just tapped the paper so they would "round" out and they came out nicely.

The paper I used is from ginormous (and YES, that is a recognized word in the dictionary now!! haha) paper pack I bought from I don't know where! I think it is My Minds Eye. As usual, I am too lazy to get up and go look...sorry! ;-(  I used the Scallop circle spellbinder for the matte on the image. I colored this with Copics and the background is colored pencil. I think thats pretty much it for now!  See you again on Tuesday with a new challenge from Magnolia-Licous Challenge blog!! :-))

Simple Card and an Award

Evening All! Sit back and relax, it's kind of a long post!!  It's friday night and I am doing nothing (except now writing this extremely long post!!). Usually we always plan to do nothing and we always end up doing something. But our night consisted of watching "Despicable Me" and then all of us going our separate ways and doing our own thing. I choose to install my new printer I just got. Wow! Exciting huh!! I love it though, it's wireless and not taking up valuable stamping space. My husband went into what I fondly call the "Dungeon" that would be our bedroom. Why the dungeon? Because he locks himself up in it, has a little lite on, won't open the window shades...and watches Tv or plays Xbox in there...lol  I can't stand it, so I just usually stay away, or periodically go in to bug him.  Which annoys the heck outta him!  :-)) Oh, and I did get to watch 2 episodes of GLEE...ok yes, I have become a Glee junkie. I can't help it. I tried to stay away and I did, then I watched one episode, then 1 more, then I bought the entire 1st season....I'm hooked. Oh and I was just THRILLED when Idina Menzel ended up being Rachels Mom.  I love HER! I saw her on Broadway, she played Elphaba in Wicked. Omg, she is AMAZING! Well Rachel, in Glee, always reminded me of her, so when she ended up her mom is was just perfect!!!!!!! They sound and look so much alike.  Anybody else out there a Glee junkie? I'm kinda embarrassed to be! I guess it's better then watching that hot mess of Jersey Shore! Oh Btw- Despicable Me...so cute. Loved it. I thought Steve Carrell, as the voice, was great.

On to other things. I taught my first Copic class last night at our LSS. I think it turned out pretty well, I was a bit nervous but had fun and can't wait to do it again. The girls actually all did great. I kept it simple. We did the following card:

I chose the watering can because I thought it would be the easiest for shading. The stamp is by Heartfelt Creations. My LSS carries them and obviously I chose to work on something she has in the store.  We used Saffron Art Elements in the centers of the flowers. She carries Xpress Blend paper, I use Papertrey usually but decided to give it try. I like it, but it's hard for me to switch papers. Anybody else have that problem?? It dries and blends differently and takes some getting use to. I would use it again.

On another note - in another month Suzanne Dean is coming to our LSS to teach. We are all soooo excited and can't wait to meet her! I'm registered for the class and a couple of my friends as well. Should be a great day!

Last I was given a Blog Award by Wendy of Sugarpea Designs. (Thanks Wendy!!!!)

So I have to tell you 8 things about myself and send it along to 8 other bloggers (and let them know!).
So here it goes.....

1. I was one of those "Twi-hards" yep...I totally thought I should have been a vampire in another life. I also would dream that Edward was my boyfriend...that is until Jacob came around. ;-)

2. I have a shopping addiction (I think most women do). Mostly I love clothes and purses. I have been known to walk out of Macys with 5 purses at one time. I am a sucker for the take an additional 30% or 40% deals. omg...It's terrible.

3. Besides clearance purses from Macys or Dillards, I am NOT a Bargain Shopper. I wish I was, but I just don't have the patience to dig through things to find that one item. So yea, I usually pay full price for stuff and get jealous at my deal shopping friends!

4. I love Cake. I could eat cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My husband has lovingly named me "cake whore" .  This also explains all the weight I have gained and why I can't get it off!!!  Yikes! If it's a store bought cake, I won't each much of it, but I always taste if just to see if its good. However, if it is homemade, especially by yours truly...oh yea, i'm going to tear that thing up! hehe

5. I love, love, love to bake and cook. I also love to collect recipes too. I have actually made a point to actually make the things I clip from magazines or print from the internet. Instead of just collecting them.  I have 2 full cupboards of recipes and a folder on my computer jammed with them too.

6. I do not drink coffee, rarely drink soda. I live off of unsweetened Ice Tea (w/1 splenda) and Water.

7. I love to Travel. Althought this whole Bed Bug thing has got me leery of going! Still, we like to go on all sorts of vacations. Shopping in NYC, Skiing, Scrapbook vacations, Cruises...you name it. I have never been to Europe, but we are planning a vacation to either Italy, Germany or England....I think Italy will be first. Just because we both have some Italian in us and I would love to go see Rome.

8. Last - I was already 5 months pregnant when I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd child!!!! Crazy, I know. To try to sum it up....I was really sick, they thought I had the flu. Since gaining weight, I had irregular periods so I thought nothing of it when I would skip months or not have one for 2 or 3 months. I did spot a little, but considered that period (like I said irregular!) I went to the Dr (I switched Gyns that year) bc she had told me if I go more than 3 months w/out a period to come in so they could put me on something. They did a pregnancy test just to be "safe" (the pills aren't safe if you are). I was certain I wasn't pregnant. The nurse came in she was in Tears (of joy) (she helped deliver my son) to tell me I was pregnant. When they did the examine, Dr said, hrmm...you feel like you are at least 12 or more weeks. But lets get a Ultrasound today to see. So I did...and BAM - I was a litle over 18 weeks. Almost halfway through my pregnancy! Kinda nice, but we had to kick it into High gear to get things ready. Oh did I mention we were done!! lol I got rid of all my sons baby stuff about 6 months before this!!! Whew, that was long.

So here is who I am giving the Stylish Blogger Award too!

Whew...that was long winded!! Thanks for stopping by and my next post will be on Sunday with something for Paper Sundaes and Sentimental Sundays. So see you then!

1000 Wishes....Magnolia

Hello! I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I did get to color some images this past weekend and even put together a few cards. Figured I would try to get a little caught up on DT projects because my hubby has this bright idea that we should, at the spur of the moment, hop into the car and drive up North so the kids can see some snow (no they have not seen snow, the oldest has seen some "fake" snow made at Sugar Mtn, NC but he doens't consider it the "real" stuff). Ok...so seeing snow sounds great but....hello...I know what snow in the Carolinas is like (I lived there as a teenager). Snow in S/N Carolina has lots of ICE!! So his idea of driving through the MTNS to see snow is not all that appealing to me! ;-) My friend was in North Georgia last week, they couldn't get up the road to get to their cabin and ended up having to stay at a Hotel in another town because alot of others had the same problem and the hotels were all booked!

The Northeast and parts of the South are getting a storm this weekend, he is trying hard for me to go. I don't think I can get off work so soon after Christmas break.  I am trying to push him off til the following weekend! I wouldn't mind going tubing...I love tubing. I just really don't look forward to driving in the snow. I have only drove in snow 1 winter....thats it!! He has NEVER drove in the snow!! Whenever we go out west for Skiing, we go with his parents and his father always drives. Ok, enough rambling on about the snow. You northerners are probably laughing at this silly Florida girl!!

Spellcaster Tilda is colored on Papertrey Ink Paper. My fav paper for coloring with Copics. I used a Stardust GellyRoll pen for the wand area. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I added some sparkle to them with Stardust Stickles. It's my favorite of the "clear" stickles. The others seem weird to me..I like Stardust the best. The heart was drawn by me and stamped with a sentiment from CTMH. The paper and ribbons are from my stash.

Oh, wish me luck I am teaching my first Copic 101 class this Thursday at my Local Scrapbook Store. I can't wait.

Challenges:
Totally Tilda - Ribbons and Roses
Bunny Zoe - Sparkle and Shine

Have a great day,

Happy New Year and DT Post

Good Morning!! Happy New Year! Wow, I can't believe it's 2011!! I hope everybody had a wonderful Holiday, I took some time off and spent it with my family. Most of it was nice but we had a few bumps in the road which made for a not-so great holiday. My 29 yr old cousin fainted and fell on Christmas Eve. He had swelling in the brain, ended up in an induced coma. He passed away on Weds. So sad and he was so young, it's still hard to believe. So anyways along with that a few other things happened involving some family members which made for a rough week.

Life in my 4 walls of my home with my wonderful children and husband was great! We had a beautiful Christmas morning, I think we all got what we wanted and then some. I for a Spellbinders Grand Caliber along with a couple of dies...so yea, I was pretty happy about that!

The rest of the week me and the kids kinda hung out, went to the movies and took a quick trip to Disney. My husband and I did something we don't usually do and went out for New Years Eve. I don't like going out and driving, so we usually just stay home and play board games. This year we decided to stay at a Hotel which has a club in it. It was awesome and we had such a great time. It was nice and boy did I need to get away!

Now I have to get back to my DT work and other commitments!! Today I have for you a card using Popcorn the Bear. I had yet to use it, it's quite a large image and I was kind of intimidated by it!

Popcorn the Bear images come unmounted. You can buy EZ Mount from Michelles Scraps which is sponsoring the challenge this week at Paper Sundaes. She also carries Copic markers, which is what I colored this with.

The centers of the sunflowers have some Art Elements and Liquid Glass. The background was colored with Prisma Colored pencils. The paper is from CTMH.

This weeks challenges for Paper Sundaes is to use something New, which was my popcorn the bear stamp. The challenge over at Sentimental Sundays is "Celebrate/Friendship". Hope you get a chance to join us at either one or both.

Hugs,
